Environmental Policy

TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE REVIVED ANNUALLY

We believe that “Sustainability not only helps us reduce adverse impacts on the environment, but also functions as one of the fundamentals in adding value to our business. In this spirit, we introduce this Environmental Policy to guide Rich Light Exports to become the most sustainable sourcing platform in Sri Lanka. We will continue to improve our sustainability performance as we progress, and collaborate with all our stakeholders to work together, for a better future.

Scope

This policy is focused on our operations and our overall supply chain.

Commitments

Our ESG framework focuses on four main pillars-People, Planet, Product, and Governance.
We aim to create a continually improving culture and a safer workplace for our employees.

We are investing in projects to reduce the adverse impacts of our industry on the environment/planet by focusing on Energy, Water, Waste, and Emissions.

By the year 2025, we plan to generate more renewable energy than our consumption, become water positive, become a net zero landfilling organization and a carbon neutral organization.

We commit to produce quality garments by using more environmentally friendly raw materials which will have lower impacts on the environment.

We will closely monitor and support our supply chain partners to achieve the same sustainability goals.
Our management decisions and actions will be environmentally conscious, transparent, and ethical.

The decisions taken will be clearly communicated among all employees, and they will be taking on an active role in maintaining an environmentally conscious workplace.
